I think it means that the guy's leaving someone, and he realizes that it hurts both him and the person he's leaving. This is where I think that I'm guessing that he knows that he'd be different than he was before he left. It sounds like he's being drafted to the services, but I'm not sure how Vienna fits in.

Reply:Couldn't find a quote from Isaac, but it seems to be about saying goodbye to someone you care about when all you can do is argue with them. I would guess it's about a massive difference of opinion with a parent.
