Out of all the songs you've heard, which song's lyrics are the most meaningful to you? And Why?

A lot of the Linkin Park songs have a lot of deep meanings. Such as Hands Held High, and somwhere I belong.

Three Days Grace's songs are the type of songs that only a person that had gone throught that type of pain could write them. And many people that listen to "emo" bands or w/e those people label their music as. Those people don;t listen to the lyrics therefore don'd understand the message. And when they don't understand the message there's no conversation for those songs except on weather they like them or not.

I just wanna see who out there is really listening to the lyrics and how they speak out intsead of just hearing the music. Those people hear,...but they don't listen. I want to see who is listening.

Out of all the songs you've heard, which song's lyrics are the most meaningful to you? And Why?
Your guardian angel

it actually has meaning and the 2:30 minute silence at the end is actually him crying. it tells a story. about him. (the lead singer)

listen to it.
Reply:Most of the lyrics that have the most meaning to me

are the ones that take imagination to relate to.

The song Gingerbread Coffin by Rasputina

has always made me feel better when I'm down.

The song is a story about a woman

who died and I assume

others are trying to bring her back from the dead

by doing some sort of ritual.

The song means much to me because the lead singer

says over and over again "She'll rise."

which I relate to: when I'm feeling my worst

I'll rise from my death (depression) and I'll live again.

Not to mention that my name means "Will rise again."

There are many other songs that have meaning to me for strange reasons.

Like Dresden Dolls' Dirty Business.

I heard it right after I apologized to my church's youth group leader

(I picked a fight with him ... verbal fight),

I apologized to him by saying that it wasn't fair for him,

because I was going through a lot of things lately

and he had no idea what they were.

To which he said something along the lines of:

"Oh, no. We know."

...

The lyrics fuel my anger towards him

because it described "the poster girl"

a shady character who I feel closer associated with than what

my youth group apparently thinks I am.

it mentions "To all the ones who thought

they knew me best [...]"

Which makes me feel like they thought they knew me best

but on the contrary, I'm the poster girl.

I recommend Rasputina if you have an over active imagination

and like hearing songs that are stories, like "Hunter's Kiss"

I recommend Emilie Autumn especially!

All of her songs are extremely poetic and meaningful.

The lyrics to "306" are deep and wonderful and

"God Help me" is a song that I has deep meaning for me.

They're both wonderful artists.
Reply:emotion by destinys child is pretty good!
Reply:i really like the song falling in the black by skillet. it shows a lot emotion in it.

but the band called red i think shows the most meaningful songs to me. theres jsut something unique on the way it sounds and the lyrics. it just screams meaningful to me lol xD

i see dead lollis =D
Reply:I have many favourite songs, and you're right, I mostly listen to the songs without understanding the meaning just because they sound awesome. These songs are japanese/korean songs, being an anime fan and all.

I also listen to many English songs but most of them I just listen to without understanding most of the song because the words are hard to form in my mind (ex. they speak too fast). So, the only songs I've listen to while knowing the lyrics are some old or semi-old or semi-new songs, which are easier to understand.

Such as, "Leavin' in a jet plane", "I don't want to miss a thing", "How to save a life", "I started a joke", "Puff the magic dragon", "Time of your life", "I knew I loved you", "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "When Children Cry", and many more.

Most meaningful? I guess the song "When Children Cry" is the most meaningful in the list I've given above. It's basically about how the future of the children is what we make for them.
