Songs about political meanings and issues?

Hi!

For internation politics homework we have to bring in the lyrics or the song to class that adresses a political issue...

Does anyone know any songs I could use?

....Are there any fall out boy songs that adressed political issues?

Thanks heaps

Songs about political meanings and issues?
There are political songs and bands usually about Bush is awful president and the war is unjust. Some of the songs that I know that are political are.

Franco Unamerican by NOFX

Press Corpse by Anti-Flag

Pennywise- F*%26amp;( Authority (it may not be suitable unless censored)

B.Y.O.B by System of a Down ;if you can find a censored song

American Idiot by Green Day

Some bands to look for are Green Day, NOFX, Anti-Flag, The bands on Rock Against Bush CDs

About Fall Out Boy, none of the songs that I know are political, they mainly sing about love, teen angst, prom etc. but you can research the band.
Reply:Check out any song written in the 1960s and 70s during the Vietnam Era. The Song WAR for instance...

WAR! - Edwin Starr

(Top Chart Position: #1 on July 25, 1970)

War!

What is it good for?

Absolutely Nothing!

(Repeat)

War is something that I despise

For it means destruction of innocent lives.

For it means tears in thousands of mother's eyes.

When their sons go out to fight to give their lives.'

-

War!

What is it good for?

Absolutely nothing.

Say it again.

(Repeat)

It's nothing but a heartbreaker

Friend only to the undertaker.

War is the enemy of all mankind

The thought of war blows my mind.

Handed down from generation to generation.

Induction destruction

Who wants to die!

-

War!

What is it good for?

Absolutely nothing

Say it again.

War!

What is it good for?

-

War has shattered many young man's dreams

Made them disabled, bitter and mean.

Life is too precious to be fighting wars each day

War can't give life, it can only take it away.

-

It's nothing but a heartbreaker.

Friend only to the undertaker.

There must be some place for these things today.

They say we must fight to keep our freedom,

But Lord there's gotta be a better way.

Better than war.

War!

What is it good for?

Absolutely nothing!

Reply:Well, you can try:

Eminem-Mosh (or something like that) This song directly points out Mr.Bush's fault for the War in Iraq, and also addresses the US Soldiers' current problem of going home and being commanded to return to Iraq 2 or 3 weeks after their return.

another song to try (Parody Song) is : P.I.M.P - Bush or "Bush P.I.M.P" on Youtube, or I am more than sure you can find it on google, this song provides a wholesome supplement of all Mr.Bush's corruptive behaviour and errors he made.

hope that helps
Reply:Many protest songs from the 60s:

Blowing in the Wind by Bob Dylan

Masters of War by Bob Dylan

Eve of Destruction by Barry McGuire

War Pigs by Black Sabath

Ohio by Stephen Stills or maybe CSN

Ball Of Confusion (That's What The World Is Today) - by the Temptations

and of course:

War - Edwin Starr (you know, with the lyric "War, huh, good god y'all, what is it good for - absolutely nothing...")
