I want to know a meaning of a song...?

I love the song "The Blower's Daughter" by Damien Rice

and I looked it up on songfacts.com but it dosn't quite say much about the actual meaning of the song. Are then any other song meanings sites? OR does anyone know the particular meaning to this song?

Thanks...

I want to know a meaning of a song...?
Try http://www.songmeanings.net/ that's where I go :)
Reply:It's a song about his obsession with someone, a love he can't have, the fact that he's in denial about the fact that it's not reciprocal and the emotions that go along with it. In the end he says "I can't take my mind off you... 'Til I find somebody new" which is basically his way of accepting the fact that he's obsessive and simply will focus that feeling on someone else eventually.

I love this song too and the whole CD "O" is great actually. I love Cold Water and Delicate as well. I can't wait for his next album.

--- I think the theory about it being his clarinet teacher's daughter may be an urban legend. I read the same thing somewhere else and I just don't buy it. I don't think he even plays clarinet. who knows though. perhaps it is true... ---
Reply:The song is about his obsession with the daughter of a clarinet teacher! So the 'blower' in this context means 'one who blows a clarinet'! Of course, if he'd used the correct English it would have been called 'The clarinet teachers daughter' but maybe he thought that would have been too obvious.
Reply:i believe it was the daughter of his clarinet teacher

may recall in the song stating "pupil in denial"

otherwise don't know all the meaning of what he says..

good song by the way.
Reply:There isn't really a particular meaning to a song. If you can get it through listening to the music and the lyrics, then there is none.
