How come the term "rip off" has so many meanings?

Like.. for example:

"got ripped off" because you overpaid for something.

a "rip-off" song because it's copied from another song.

"rippin' off on someone" like you're going off on someone about something.

Which one is the most correct use?

How come the term "rip off" has so many meanings?
Rip off that strip of velcro attached to your head!
Reply:The one you need to use
Reply:That is how Americans change English. There's always going to be a wind of uniqueness. As for the correct one, all of them can be used, but I've only heard of "ripping someone off by overpaying."
