the cocteau twins lyrics "theres only a hairs breadth between us" just drifted through my mind and i heard it as:
"theres only a hare's breath between us"which conjures up a quite different feeling to the song!
Cant you help hearing funny double meanings in songs and film dialogue....ie...?
My friends and I were recently discussing lyrics that we THOUGHT we were hearing as kids growing up---mine was from Grease: I always heard "I've got chills...they're multiplyin" as "I've got shoes, they're made of plywood..."
Not as clever as your homonym, but yes, I see the humor in your question...what does hares' breath smell like, anyway?
