Regina Spektor song lyric meanings?

I want to know the meaning of the Samson lyrics...do they have anything to do with mythology

Regina Spektor song lyric meanings?
This is a song I discussed a lot with my friends way back when. Here's what we came up with, you can see if you agree:

In general it's about the relationship the singer is in with her true love. The story of Samson and Delilah work as an analogy. Delilah cut Samson's hair to take away his strength- but the singer uses it to describe how they made themselves vulnerable to one another. The singer and her lover have this epic love that they feel is of huge importance, and thats the reference to not being in the bible and history- it might not be epic to the world but it is to them. For the "you are my sweetest downfall" wasn't as depressing in our interpretation. It's more that the singer had built this wall for herself, and her love for this person has broken it down it destroyed this wall, but it was sweet b/c she can love her lover fully now.

Anyways, that's my take. Some say it can be a person who loved Samson before Delilah did... that's another one.
