A good song that has meanings to explain?

A good song that has meanings to explain?
How about "American Pie" by Don McLean or my personal favorite, "Vincent" by the same artist? American Pie tells the sad tale of "the day the music died", meaning when Buddy Holley, Ritchie Valens and "The Big Bopper" and a few other musicians died in an airplane crash on the way to a concert in Iowa.

Vincent, is the story of Vincent VanGogh, his suicide, his incredible talent, his fragility as a person and how the world just wasn't ready for his beautiful artistry. He became famous after his death.

These are both beautiful songs that speak to my heart. Hope you can use this information!
Reply:The biggest one has to be 'Danny Boy' - or Londonderry Air. The story is about a father who has let his last son go to war - although he has already lost 3.

Call me an Anorak, but I have this title by over 60 singers.

Listen to it once - it will hit you.

The other one has to be Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harem. There are theories that he was 'high' at the time,

but it takes ages to cut a record, and he wasn't high all

the time. Try playing it, then sorting out the meaning. It

is a great song.

Dexies Midnight Runners, with 'Come on Eileen' is now

reputed to be about paedophilia. I have listened hundreds

of times, and I suppose it could be. But a great track in it's

days.

I am sure there are plenty of others. But good qestion.
