Do you listen to the words in the music(some people cant make em out) or know song meanings?

usually I can make the words out in a song but if I can't I look the lyrics up....And afterwards when I know all the lyrics to a song I start to know what it means.

that is what i like about music the best, what they say in the song. like john mellencamp. just to read what he is singing is cool. or some one like steve earl. cross canadian ragweed
