"We wrote these catchy meaningless songs so little kids like Boola N will buy our merch, our music, and obsess over us. We can't play instruments, and we don't write our own music, but luckily enough, we are adored by hundreds of kids like that, and so we get by and are insanely rich."

Songs with messages & hidden meanings?

I was listening to the radio yesterday and Take Thats new song Shine came on and the lyrics were really deep and meaningful for me having suffered in the past from an eating disorder. It got me thinking that there must be other songs out there with hidden meanings or messages that relate to eating disorders and other mental illnesses. I would like to put a CD together. Does anyone have a song that sticks in their mind because it resonates with them for what they have been through or are going through? If so please share your thoughts and why that song.

Thanks

Reply:Iris (city of angels theme song) by the Goo Goo Dolls

It talks about how you can feel alone in a world full of people.
Reply:Let's Not **** Ourselves (To Love And Be Loved) by Bright Eyes.. The bit near the end when he describes a conversation with his dad in the hospital... really got me..
Reply:Yeah, I totally know what you mean. I love music because it can help heal us when we need it.

When my mom died I kept the Foo FIghters :Its times like these" on my mp3 player and listened to it like a million times. I still listen to it several times a week.

Recently, ( a few months ago) I bought the Blue October album and really like it because the lead singer suffers from Bipolar disorder. Even the upbeat songs are pretty dark if you listen to the words or know what it is about. One is Hate me today.... THe video is awesome you have to watch it.... And another one about a ship going to shore. The video is about a cruise ship and it deals with getting over wanting to kill yourself.

Also, Nirvana is always good, for sure.... Tori Amos she has remade a couple of Nirvana songs that are great. Good luck
Reply:There are tons of songs like that. I think it's important to find music that resonates with you, because it's much more enjoyable when you can understand it.
Reply:Mike Oldfield's "Talk About Your Life" has the line"It's not easy going where no one goes, and no one knows". It really spoke to how I often feel isolated as someone with Asperger's. The Song "Liberation" which uses quotes from Anne Frank's diary spoke to me of hope in the worst circumstances.

"17 Again" by the Eurythmics has the lines "Thought that you'd done everything, you didn't have a clue". It reminded me how disastrous my university attempt was because I hadn't realised how much of a problem Asperger's was at university.
Reply:I think songs really differ from person to person. Different people will have different reactions to different songs.

Reply:The pass by Rush. This is such a good song about how you expect life to be something and then you find it lets you down and how hard that can be.

Calling all angels by Jane Sibley - This is a great song about har times and how things can seem so much better when you ask for help.

Reply:"From a Balance Beam" or "Perfect Sonnet", both by Bright Eyes.

See, this is the exact reason that makes "musicians" like Britney Spears no good. There is no importance, no real meaning in her music. It's about sex and relationships, and its all blaitantly obvious. Music needs depth, it needs to be abstract and symbolic. I'm glad you recognize this.

Peace, and best of wishes :)

IN the 60,s advertisements on tv and music had subliminal messages, which are hidden, and affect the subconscious mind...this was done by creating another sound using another deck, playing the two at the same time and recording the two together, so the subliminal message, such as, BEANZ means HEINZ, was just a fraction below audible level but ???? HMMMM!!! Do you know, I fancy some beans right now!!

This was banned in the early seventies, but films still advertise products, in a similar legal manner...eg, a packet of kelloggs clearly in shot, but as you are watching the action,

probably did not notice it....companys pay to have their products showcased in films, so when you get home, you have a feeling of deja vu, when your in the kitchen making a coffee and glance at your cereal packet.

Does not mean anything TO ME on a personal level, just thought it was along the lines of what you are asking.
Reply:All songs can have meanings for us, to refer to them as having hidden messages is a little worrying. In psychiatry there is a term called 'ideas of reference' whereby some people believe that the radio or tv is speaking to them. It is something you might want to check out with your G.P.

Songs with deep meanings?
**********************BEST ANSWER HERE************************

By far the DEEPEST SONG I EVER heard was "Amongst Kings" by Nas.

So deep, wasn't released in the US - only in the UK as a "B" side.

Yo, Nas analytically breaks down when he dies, the things he sees; directions he chose; etc...

But, there's a twist - he committed suicide.

Ridiculous beat; ridiculous lyrics; ridiculous concept. DEEP, because in one of the lyrics, he tortures himself and says, "I could have been an Atheist and escaped this sh*t."

Enough said.......That's DEEP!
Reply:pretty much all taking back sundays songs. my favorites are no "i" in team and make damn sure

Songs with inner meanings?

I was listening to "Wild WIld West" by Escape Club in the 80's and realized something. A web site confirmed this.

This is a Cold War song.

Johnny's in the back room waiting for the big boom (probably refering to a nuclear war).

Sherrif's on the airways talking to the DJ's (probably as warnings)

Ronnie's got a new gun (good reference to Ronald Reagen's major weapons build up).

anyone know any other good songs with inner meanings?

Reply:There is a little known song recorded by Paul McCartney, called, "After The Ball." I believe he wrote it for Linda....describing how after the break-up of the Beatles, she was there, waiting for him, supporting him and loving him. It is on the album, "Back To The Egg."

After The Ball

Paul Mccartney

After the ball, after the ball,

You were the one out in the hall,

You were the one,

The one who would love me after the ball.

After the ball, after the ball,

You were the one out in the hall,

You were the one,

The one who would love me after the ball.

Well, I arrived, looked around,

But the room was full of strangers.

Nowhere was a friendly face to be found.

Later on, I awoke,

But the party it was over,

There you were, waiting to bring me 'round.

Mm,

After the ball, after the ball,

You were the one out in the hall,

You were the one,

The one who loved me after the ball.

After the ball, after the ball,

You were the one out in the hall,

You were the one,

The one who loved me after the ball.
Reply:I think every song has an "inner meaning"

my favorite song is "Cigaro" by System of a Down

"We're the regulators that de-regulate,

We're the animators that de-animate"(refering to how the govornment doesnt do thier jobs properly"

"burning up the worlds resources, then we turn and hide"

self-explanitory

"my c*ck is much bigger than yours,

my sh!t stinks much better than yours"(refering to how the govornment thinks they are better than everyone else)

not sure if that is what u meant by "inner meaning" but its a good song..

Also, "Devil in a Midnight Mass" by Billy Talent refers to a pedofile priest who molested the boys in his church group, and threatened to kill them if they told anyone..

"He preyed behind stained glass"

"Silent night for the rest of my life

Violent knight at the edge of your knife

Forgive me father... Won't make it right

Silent night for the rest of my life

Silent night at the edge of your knife"

"The holy water in his hands

Can never wash away his sins"

"Put my trust in God that day

Not the man that taught his way"

What songs have good meanings and always are able to cheer you up?
"If your going through hell"
Reply:When it comes to that material, independent rock music has a ton of great songs. One song I really enjoy to listen when I'm at a party with close friends is called, Around the Gills, by a band called "What Made Milwaukee Famous". Check them out. I've seen them live. There really going places, and there really cool drinking buddies. If that doesn't fit, go to www.clubspaceland.com and click on band links. They'll take you straight to the band's website or myspace. They'll have music samples on there for sure. There is no doubt you'll find something you like. Enjoy and Rock On!!

*I havent figured out a title, so if you can think of one that I like that's a best answer!

*It's not edited, OR FINISHED

*I also haven't figured out a chorus

*I'm thinkin the genre would be a pop sound

*IDK about the "feels great" part towards the end. I think it's kind of corny.

*I posted the song meanings too!

You can die 1000 deaths

And live with no regrets

But until you've seen through my eyes

There are no more clear blue skys

How can you know what is up

When everything is chopped and cut

How can you know the sun is up

When the window is always shut

Saying always is forever

Is like saying never is always better

Keeping your head held high

And keeping your options big and wide

Will unlock that clear blue sky

You've always realized

But somehow have kept disguised

For all this time

Is there hidden meanings to all songs?

most rock songs have meanings beyond whats being said. like blue octobers "into the ocean" but do all of them have hidden meanings?

Is there hidden meanings to all songs?
Hi,

I think all songs have many meanings. It is you who can decide what is the meaning of the song you are listening to. It all depends of the mood you are in or what you are going through. You will also realize that the meaning of one song can change for you over time, through different periods of your life.

Are these meanings hidden? You are probably just not looking in their direction at this very moment.

Danielle V
Reply:they shouldnt have "hidden" meanings...

if you listen to it you should be able to figure what its about
Reply:it depends on the artists... another type of a "hidden message" is subliminal messages. theyre pretty creeepy but really cool. its like you play the song backwords and it says something totally different. if you want to look into this www.albinoblacksheep.com has a few. its very intriguing to me :)
Reply:yes.....I wrote a song about it, want to hear it, here it gooo.....lol
Reply:It really depends on the listener...everyone is different in the way they interpet the meaning of songs. Some can find two means some find one and some people find no meaning at all...it depends on the person who is listening and what they are listening too.
Reply:I don't think so. Sometimes a song is just a song.
Reply:they all may have two meanings, or just one but it all depends on what ur going through because it affects the way u think about things,

What is it called when one phrase can mean two things? For exaple this is a lyric from the song "Ho Ho Hopefully" by The Maine.

"She has a way of making things okay, when she's not around, I'm going crazy."

This can either mean "She has a way of making things okay when she's not around," or it can mean "When she's not around, I'm going crazy."

What is a good song dealing with the following theme?
Positively 4th Street by Bob Dylan. Some lyrics: You've got a lot of nerve to say you are my friend. When I was down you just stood there grinning. You got a lot of nerve to say you've got a helping hand to lend. You just want to be on the side that's winning. When you know as well as I you'd rather see me paralyzed. Why don't you just come out once and scream it? I wish that for just one time you could stand inside my shoes. You'd know what a drag it is to see you.

It's no fun 'til someone dies

Don't look at me like

I am a monster

Frown out your one face

But with the other

Stare like a junkie

Into the TV

Stare like a zombie

While the mother holds her child,

Watches him die

Pleas to the sky crying,

"Why, oh why?!"

Cause I need to watch things die

From a distance

Vicariously, I

Live while the whole world dies

Song Meaning?!?!?

I'm doing a project on song meanings, we have to pick out the meaning line by line. I am doing Everybody's Foll by Evanescence.

Someone tell me what an icon of self indulgence is?

Thanks ;)

Song Meaning?!?!?
This is about people who are fake and superficial, people that pretend to be what they are not just to be accepted and loved in society. Amy Lee wrote it when her sister started turning into one of these people. She was trying to say you should always be yourself for you, and no one else. It doesn't matter what other people say as long as you're happy with who you are, and you aren't pretending.
Reply:Im not sure, but this is a really good site, where other people discuss song lyrics and what they think they mean.

What is the only pop song in history with the word troglodyte in it. it has three different meanings to it.?

"Troglodyte"

(As recorded by Jimmy Castor Bunch)

JIMMY CASTOR BUNCH

What we're gonna do right here is go back

Way back into time

When the only people that existed were Troglodytes

Cave men, cave woman, Neadrothol, Troglodytes

Imagine the average cave man at home

Listening to his stereo

Sometimes he'd get up and dance

He'd move something like this "dance dance"

He'd get tired of dancing alone and look in the mirror

And say "gotta find a woman"

"Gotta find a woman, gotta find a woman, gotta find a woman"

Then he'd go down to the lake where all the girls

Would be swimming or washing clothes or something

And he'd grab one by the hair

You can't do that today fellas

'Cause it might come off

You have a hand full of hair

And she'd be swimming away from you

This was a big woman, big

Her name was Bertha, Bertha Butt -- one of the Butt sisters

She looked down on him

And started to crush him

Then she began to play him

He looked up at her and said "sock it to me"

"Sock it to me, sock it to me, sock it to me"

She looked down on him

And said "I'll sock it to you daddy"

And you know what he said

He started it all way back then

I ain't gonna lie to you

He said "right on, right on"

Hot pants, hot pants

Uh uh uh.

Does anyone know what the song "But It's Better If You Do" mean?

My friend sent me the song "But It's Better If You Do" by Panic at The Disco and said that it reminds him of my boyfriend and I. I'm horrible with song meanings. So could somebody help me out please? Thanks =)

Does anyone know what the song "But It's Better If You Do" mean?
The video is all about a guy telling his wife he's off to work/meet some buddies.. %26amp; leaves while she sulks..

%26amp; he goes to a strip club instead...

%26amp; the band is singing on-stage at the strip club %26amp; he's captivated by this woman sitting at the bar..

NOTE: They are all wearing masks...

Later, when she gives him a private lap dance, he takes his mask off %26amp; so does she %26amp; they both realise who they are (she's actually the wife/girlfriend who we see at home in the beginning).. She storms off pissed off right as the cops bust the place..

He realises his mistake %26amp; runs after her %26amp; He watches the cops takin his wife away %26amp; knocks the chief so that they arrest him too..

The video ends with them both in the back seat of the same police car..

Errr... This probably isn't the best time to ask you this, But did ur boyfriend cheat on u or something?? Lol..

Anyway, I guess he truly loves you.. :P
Reply:The video isn't too hard to figure out, but the song itself is pretty much about being in a place you wouldn't normally be and how you feel you aren't really belonging.

Songs and meanings, negetive and positive.?

i have this religion assignment,

and i need to analyse three songs with negetive meaning,

and three songs with a positive, then write an essay on why people should listen to songs with positive messages.

does anyone know any songs that are easy to analyse,

positive and negetive,

plus a little bit of the meanings might be helpful. Xox

Songs and meanings, negetive and positive.?
I hope they don't have to be religious songs- because I know very few. Anyway, most of the songs I know that evoke positive or negative feelings have them expressed more by the instruments and their voice rather than the lyrics. (Especially the abundance of foreign language songs I have) But down to the point, here are a few songs in both catagories. They're all in English but only one or two have anything to do with religion.

Positive:

-Lose Yourself by Eminem (ironic that he made a song that I consider 'positive', but really it is)

-Freed From Desire by Gala (I love dancing to this song; it just sounds so clean)

-Adrenaline by ? (This really motivates me)

-Year of the Rat by badly Drawn Boy (The video is cute, but it's based on sort of a Eastern religion kind of idea)

Negative:

-Lonely Peole by the Beatles (religious tone, sad, and of course, it's THE BEATLES)

-My Axe by Insane Clown Posse (err, you may want to bleep out a few words of this one . . .)

-Summer Make Good by Mum (really, really creepy to say the least. I haven't heard it for a while, but I don't think it has many lyrics)

-Sick by Flyleaf (This song gets me upset- most times I won't listen to it unless I need a massive amount of angst to write an angsty scene in a story. In that case, it gets me a lot of ideas, but really makes me crave happy thoughts)

Why listen to positive songs? Because they're positive of course! They motivate people, inspire them in a positive way, evoke good feelings, and push them in a productive direction.
Reply:if it's a religion assignment i know a rerigious positive and sad song called 'al-muallim'. in this it tell us the life of the holy prophet(peace be upon him), who was a perfect human being.

I want to know a meaning of a song...?

I love the song "The Blower's Daughter" by Damien Rice

and I looked it up on songfacts.com but it dosn't quite say much about the actual meaning of the song. Are then any other song meanings sites? OR does anyone know the particular meaning to this song?

Thanks...

I want to know a meaning of a song...?
Try http://www.songmeanings.net/ that's where I go :)
Reply:It's a song about his obsession with someone, a love he can't have, the fact that he's in denial about the fact that it's not reciprocal and the emotions that go along with it. In the end he says "I can't take my mind off you... 'Til I find somebody new" which is basically his way of accepting the fact that he's obsessive and simply will focus that feeling on someone else eventually.

I love this song too and the whole CD "O" is great actually. I love Cold Water and Delicate as well. I can't wait for his next album.

--- I think the theory about it being his clarinet teacher's daughter may be an urban legend. I read the same thing somewhere else and I just don't buy it. I don't think he even plays clarinet. who knows though. perhaps it is true... ---
Reply:The song is about his obsession with the daughter of a clarinet teacher! So the 'blower' in this context means 'one who blows a clarinet'! Of course, if he'd used the correct English it would have been called 'The clarinet teachers daughter' but maybe he thought that would have been too obvious.
Reply:i believe it was the daughter of his clarinet teacher

may recall in the song stating "pupil in denial"

otherwise don't know all the meaning of what he says..

good song by the way.
Reply:There isn't really a particular meaning to a song. If you can get it through listening to the music and the lyrics, then there is none.

Songs kind of like "Where is the love" or follow that songs meanings?

Do you know any songs that follow what the song "Where is the Love" by the Black Eyed Peas, is talking about?

or songs about like, judgment, and hate. and how much the world has gone down hill... and how the youth of today takes any chance they get to be violent towards one another, when it isn't even needed.

I don't know really how to explain it. But I'm putting a myspace bulletin up to make a [serious] point about something. And I need a song to go on it, that goes with what I'm talking about.

What does the Eagles song Hotel California mean??I've heard many meanings for it.What do u think?

What does the Eagles song Hotel California mean??I've heard many meanings for it.What do u think?
OK
Reply:for one, i DO NOT think it was about Satanism.

i left the link to a very interesting article if you are interested in further reading...........
Reply:Hmmmm, from my own interpretation of the song, which I love btw is that Hotel California really is just referring to California and everything it has to offer or not, depending on who or where you are I suppose. Anyway, the ending about you can check out but you can never leave makes me think of something similar to leaving your heart in San Francisco....you can move away, you can leave but you can never really forget it or feel comfortable anywhere else. It's all in the metaphors! :)
Reply:Religious nuts think it's about the church of Satan. As Don Henley once told about it in an interview, it was a song about the excesses of the California lifestyle in the 1970's. There was a LOT of alcohol and drug abuse, especially by and around musicians at the time.
Reply:its the ghost from his past that he cant let go

What would you say these two songs meanings are?

The first song is My Heroine by Silverstein. and the next is Tears Don't Fall by Bullet For My Valentine. Here are links to lyrics (first is My Heroine)

http://www.metrolyrics.com/my-heroine-ly...

http://www.metrolyrics.com/tears-dont-fa...

What would you say these two songs meanings are?
never heard the first song

but I love the 2nd song

the lyrics are deep but they make no sense

hmm lets see i think hes trying to tell a story about his girlfriend leaving him or something

but to tell you the truth they really dont add up

but when he sings the song they seem pretty awesome
Reply:think, based on the lyrics "Under your covers more torture than pleasure" and "I'll break you my habit" that it's about a girl, but not a girl who changed his life for the better. I think maybe it's a girl who he was really into and then she got hooked on drugs and tried to get him on it too, and the "sense I never knew I had" was how he felt when he was on Heroine.

I think that the song is, like SheepShirts said, supposed to be both about the drugs and the girl, hence "My Heroine." But since he talks like he's talking to a person and talks about "the drugs begin to peak" that it is most definitely about both

The drugs begin to peak

A smile of joy arrives in me

But sedation changes to panic and nausea

And breath starts to shorten

And heartbeats pass softer

You won't try to save me

You just want to break me, and leave me desperate

You taught my heart a sense I never knew I had

I can't forget the times that I was lost and depressed from the awful truth

How do you do it?

You're my heroine

You won't leave me alone

Chisel my heart out of stone

I give in everytime.

You taught my heart a sense I never knew I had

I can't forget the times that I was lost and depressed from the awful truth

How do you do it?

You're my heroine

I bet you laugh at the thought of me thinking for myself

I bet you believe that I'm better off with you than someone else

Your face arrives again, all hope I had becomes surreal

But under your cover's more torture than pleasure

And just past your lips, there's mores anger than laughter

Not now or forever will I ever change you

I know that to go on, I'll break you my habit

You taught my heart a sense I never knew I had

I can't forget the times that I was lost and depressed from the awful truth

How do you do it?

You're my heroine

I will save myself

I dont really understand what this song means but these words

"Your tears don’t fall they crash around me,

Her conscience calls,

They're guilty too, come home."

and the way he sings them are so powerful. that dude has a wicked voice. these words relate to me i just left home like 3 months ago i dint tell my parents i jus dissapeared and didnt tell them . I know my mom has cryed many times and yeh i hate the thought of it but i can help it. and those words jus kinda relate to me at the mo coz it was partly their fault why i left mostly theirs but they jus relatwe to me.

Let's go!

With blood shot eyes I watch you sleeping,

The warmth I feel beside me is slowly fading,

Would she hear me if I called her name?

Would she hold me if she if she knew my shame?

There’s always something different going wrong

The path I walk's in the wrong direction,

There’s always someone ******* hanging on

Can anybody help me make things better?

Your tears don’t fall they crash around me,

Her conscience calls,

They're guilty too, come home.

Your tears don’t fall they crash around me,

Her conscience calls,

They're guilty too, come home.

The moments die, I hear no screaming,

The visions left inside me are slowly fading

Would she hear me if I called her name?

Would she hold me if she if she knew my shame?

There’s always something different going wrong

The path I walk's in the wrong direction,

There’s always someone ******* hanging on

Can anybody help me make things better?

Your tears don’t fall they crash around me,

Her conscience calls,

They're guilty too, come home.

Your tears don’t fall they crash around me,

Her conscience calls,

They're guilty too, come home.

This battered room I've seen before,

The broken bones they heal no more (no more)

With my last breath I'm choking,

Will this ever end? I'm hoping,

My world is over one more time.

Let's go!

Would she hear me if I called her name?

will she hold me if she if she knew my shame?

There’s always something different going wrong

The path I walk's in the wrong direction,

There’s always someone ******* hanging on

Can anybody help me make things better?

Your tears don’t fall they crash around me,

Her conscience calls,

They're guilty too, come home.

Your tears don’t fall they crash around me,

Her conscience calls,

They're guilty too, come home.

Back down!

Your tears don’t fall they crash around me,

Her conscience calls,

They're guilty too, come home.

Isn't this a great song? What are your thoughts on its meanings?

I think it's a good song. I like the beat and the chorus rocks. I'm pretty sure it means they broke up but he's willing to take her back if they don't return whatever bad happened in the past and he won't be rude with "I told you so". I think

It's a good song...the video is somewhat strange, though.

Here's what I think:

She left him and then they meet up again later. He thinks that she shouldn't have left, but she doesn't really need to say sorry because they both know he was right.

fairly simple, just take a look at the lyrics. the video is too confusing!

Does anyone know any "hidden" meanings behind the Beatle's song/movie the "Yellow Submarine?"

I personally own and adore this movie, but being born in the early 70's and growing up on country-based music, I didn't become familiar with the Beatles and other groups and artists from that era until later on in my life....any comments or facts greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know any "hidden" meanings behind the Beatle's song/movie the "Yellow Submarine?"
Old Fred: [after they have all been turned into much younger versions of themselves] Now I don't mean to alarm you, mates, but the years are going backwards.

George: What does that mean, Old Fred?

Old Fred: It means that if we don't do something soon, we're all going to disappear up our own existance!

Ringo: [Sniffing] I want me mom
Reply:no meanings it's just fun to watch :)
Reply:Acid and marijuana wern't legal then, but they wern't exactly terrorist material like they are today. Smoke a joint today and you go to jail for about ten years. Smoke a joint back then.... and you'd go to jail for not sharing with the cops. It was all trip and stone for the hippie generation. The joys of the high were happly shared with others, some in the form of visual entertainment. Seeing something trippy was either find the tripout, or make it your self, thus, the Yellow Submarine.
Reply:where they go for acid....its a drug reference
Reply:Someone told me the only way to truely understand the movie was to take LSD or eat shrooms and then watch it and you will know...

I couldnt tell you though b/c i dont do stuff like that and I have never seen the movie.~
Reply:Knowing the Beatles, there could be many hidden meanings. They were probably using the submarine as an example of earth.

Maybe they were talking about being high.

Those are my two suggestions. I am a big Beatle fan.
Reply:It's just a children's song. It has the overall general meaning of we're all in this together.

The movie had little to do with the Beatles other than using their songs. They didn't write or voice it. The style (Peter Max) was representative of the psychedelic art and attitude of the times.

What song do you believe is the 'deepest' ?

Many songs have meanings. I love to analyze songs. The one I had the most fun with lately was A-Punk by Vampire Weekend. Now I don't want some copy-pasted review from a website. I want a song in english that is of many possible meanings and what you think it means and why you do or don't like it. ;3

What song do you believe is the 'deepest' ?
I think Bette Midler's From a Distance is deep, although it doesn't have "many" meanings. Here are the lyrics:

http://www.seeklyrics.com/lyrics/Bette-M...

I like the way that the song makes a point that things are far from perfect in our world, without ever saying that directly. It tells how beautiful and peaceful and harmonious the Earth appears...from a distance. Without spelling things out, the implication is that all is not well in paradise, when you see it up close. It makes the seemingly hopeful statement that God is watching us and then it qualifies that statement with "from a distance."

What is a good song dealing with the following theme?

A song about how the general public feels pleasure from viewing other people suffer. How people feel good about themselves from watching other people struggle. If you know any songs dealing with these meanings, please let me know.

Lyrics :

Eye on the t.v cuz tragedy thrills me.

Whatever flavor it happens to be.

(like)

Killed by the husband...

drowned by the ocean...

Shot by his own son...

she used a poison in his tea, Then she kissed him goodbye.

That's My kinda story

It's no fun till someone dies.

Don't look at me like I am a monster.

Frown out your one face but with the other you

Stare like a junkie into the t.v.

Stare like a zombie

while the mother holds her child. Watches him die.

Hands to the sky, cryin' "why, oh why?"

Cuz I need to watch things die, from a distance.

Vicariously, I live while the whole world dies.

You all need it too don't lie.

Why can't we just admit it?

We won't give pause till the blood is flowing.

Neither the brave nor bold nor brightest of stories told,

We won't give pause till the blood is flowing.

i need to watch things die, from a good safe distance.

Vicariously, i live while the whole world dies.

you all feel the same so why can't we just admit it?

Blood like rain come down. Drum on grave and ground.

Part Vampire, Part warrior, Carnivore, and Voyeur

Stare at the transmittal. Sing to the death rattle

Credulous at best, your desire to believe in angels in the hearts of men.

Pull your head on out your hippy haze and give a listen.

Shouldn't have to say it all again.

The universe is hostile. so Impersonal. devour to survive.

So it is. So it's always been.

We all feed on tragedy. It's like Blood to a vampire.

vicariously, I live while the whole world dies.

Much better you than i.

2. This Aint A Scene It's An Arms Race by Fall Out Boy

3. Umbrella by Rihanna

4. On Top Of The World by Boys Like Girls

5. I Constantly Thank God For Esteban - Panic! At The Disco

if you do this THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

Really important please help!!! (For peole who are good with song meanings)?
Eh. I'll try my best though =)

1. It sounds like the guy is talking about a person who's down in the dumps, and instead of being sad, they should be alive and like paint the town red. Be wild, I guess.

I can't find any poetry methods in this song.

2. Ah, a FOB song. You had to choose the complicated, huh? Alright, well it was reportedly mentioned, by Pete Wentz, that he was frustrated with the "emo scene". I think to support that statement, the lyrics of "Crashing not like hips or cars/more like parties" show that they're not going to be the depressing type. But if it wasn't about the emo scene, then it's probably about being a guy who's being in the business with words...oh wait like a songwriter!

The metaphors here are that they're comparing words with weapons and lies with threads ("The lies I weave are so intricate").

3. It's basically means that Rihanna wants this guy to trust her....kinda like the meaning of "If It's Lovin That You Want"

This songs has a lot of metaphors. "Raining" means that there are more bad times coming their way. "Umbrella" is the shelter and protection Rihanna provides. "Sun" and "shining" probably means the good times or if one of them (probably more of Rihanna) gets the good things, both of them will.

4. It seems like the guy's talking about a person who completes him (heh I know, corny) but he hasn't seen the person for a while. But when they get together, they should "spend the night on top of the world." The thing about it is that at the end, he says that the person's only in the dreams, which could mean that the person might be long gone and he's fantasizing.

There's a rhyme scheme. You're familiar with the AABB sort of deal? A is the first line, that kind of crap.

It goes as followed:

AABB (first stanza)

AABB (second stanza)

AAA(third stanza)

The chorus, I think, repeats the words, but at the last two lines, it has "seems" and "dreams" as rhymes.

The next one has "waters" and "daughters" for rhymes as well. You get the idea.

5. Ugh, PATD. Their lyrics are like the complex of the complex. I think it's best if you try it yourself, because I will probably give you the stupidest answer for this song. But I'm giving this a shot anyways =p

It seems that Brendon plays the announcer of a show, kinda like a priest or whatever when he says to forget the "faux affliction" (fake pain) and mentions that they are in for a show tonight. If I were to guess, I think this has the same meaning about "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race." About the emo thing.

You're aware of what emo is. I think this song points out how people fake being all sad and depressed, like the "faux affliction" or the part when he sings "And I for one can see no blood from the hearts and the wrists you allegedly slit"...oh and especially the part "if the scene were a parish you'd all be condemned."
Reply:Whoo hoo!

Thank you! Now I feel like a smartie! Report Abuse

Reply:i know that 3. is about friendships and stuff.
Reply:Geez you dont want much do ya
Reply:The only one I know is umbrella. Umbrella is about best friends. And that sometimes people need help from friends to get through things. When she says " bet its raining more then ever" she means that her friend is probably going through a lot more trouble then usual, and that she will help him.

Number 2 has no meaning. Fall out boy doesnt make songs with meaning.
Reply:number 1 (Send My Love To The Dancefloor, I'll See You In Hell) means that everything is over so they are just gonna dance.

number 2 (This Aint A Scene It's An Arms Race) i can honestly say im a fall out boy fan and the thing i love about them is that their songs have no meaning at all!

number 3 (Umbrella) the meaning is that she will always be there for him through anything

number 4 (On Top Of The World) means he is in love and he is always thinking about her and wants to be with her always

number 5 (I Constantly Thank God For Esteban) panic!, was discovered by fob's bassist pete wentz, they are the same way as fob and none of there songs make sense/mean anything

i hope that helps! good luck
Reply:Umberlla-Rihanna

I think this song is talking about how much these 2 people really want to be toghter, but they're far away from each other, but how they'll always be thinking of each other and stuff like that. It also doesn't matter about material things as long as they have each other. Then in the chrous when it says "you can stand under my umbrella" is how much they really want to be together.
Reply:#2: Fall Out Boy bass player Pete Wentz wrote this when he was frustrated with the "Emo scene," which the band was strongly associated with. In the lyrics, Wentz lashes out at people who blindly follow the trend. The sing-along at the end of the song was inspired by Justin Timberlake's "Senorita." This was the first single from Infinity On High. The band thought there were bigger radio hits on the album, but chose this because of its message. The video contains a scene that makes reference to an incident in which nude photos of Pete Wentz leaked on the internet.

Song Meanings?

Sometimes when a song comes on, I can never decipher the meaning of the song. Is there any website or database that discusses the meanings of songs? I know ones that I have trouble with are Amy Winehouse songs like Back In Black.

Song Meanings?
on wikipedia it tells the meaning of the singles on cds. also if you look up the lyrics alot of sites will also have the meanings.
Reply:Amy's album back to black has a pattern from the first song to the last. It is about a woman who is in love or thought to be in love with a man who himself loves another. and in back to black, they have decided to go their seperate ways, where he goes back to her and she goes back to black( the bottle drugs depression) thats why in her first song rehab, people think(according to her) that she is on med and she needs to get clean but she says no no no she is just depressed and need a friend. I love her album. it starts where she loves him and ends where she gives up "he can only hold her"

I am sorry I dont know of a web site but the best thing about this album is that it keeps you thinking.. I love it.

War!

War is something that I despise

For it means destruction of innocent lives.

For it means tears in thousands of mother's eyes.

When their sons go out to fight to give their lives.'

Absolutely nothing.

Say it again.

It's nothing but a heartbreaker

Friend only to the undertaker.

War is the enemy of all mankind

The thought of war blows my mind.

Handed down from generation to generation.

Induction destruction

Who wants to die!

War has shattered many young man's dreams

Made them disabled, bitter and mean.

Life is too precious to be fighting wars each day

War can't give life, it can only take it away.

another song to try (Parody Song) is : P.I.M.P - Bush or "Bush P.I.M.P" on Youtube, or I am more than sure you can find it on google, this song provides a wholesome supplement of all Mr.Bush's corruptive behaviour and errors he made.

Any good songs with meanings like this????????????

Songs with lyrics or meanings like,

comparing how amazing or perfect a girl is, with nature.

Like stars, skys, or whatever, but like comparing.

Also I don't want like rap songs or like oldies. Like rock/alternitive/emo/indie bands.

Like anything from like Hellogoodbye to like Underoath. Anyone know any songs?

Also the whole song doesn't have to be comparing a girl with nature, it could just be like a line or two in the song, not the whole thing.

OM is the sound of the universe

Reply:Home is where the heart is for whatever reason that came to me. But yeah it could be spiritual..
Reply:Home is where your heart is. Home is where you feel safe and loved. Home is the one place where you can truly be yourself.
Reply:Ahhhhhhh, Dorthy travelled The Yellow Brick Road only to find she had been dreaming, are we so different? With truth all around, still we slumber. Forgetting past and future, now throw the present away, where are we? ~ : )
Reply:Home is where we all come from ( I also call it the other side)

How do you take the song Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles?

I've heard so many "meanings" to this song, this is mine: it's gotten to the point where people just go to church just because they think they'll be saved, and they're lonely, but no one will show up at the funerals of their "brothers and sisters," and it's become a meaningless thing to some people, like they only pray when they want something. Any other translations?

How do you take the song Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles?
I take it that Eleanor and Father McKenzie are the lonely ones... and the sadness is that they just miss each other and never get to meet.
Reply:I'm agree with VS.

But, you can give the song the meaning you want... ;)

Everybody has own experiencies and take the words of a song to their own life... ;)
Reply:Not everyone will find someone. Some people die alone, and there's nothing anyone can do.
